Handwoven rya wall hanging in pure wool with a dense, long pile in warm yellow and cream tones. The simple, tactile expression emphasises the texture of the wool and the subtle variations in colour.

Bio:
Rya has a long tradition in Swedish textile craftsmanship and is characterised by a long, knotted pile on a woven foundation. The technique was revitalised during the 20th century and became prominent in Swedish interiors, particularly during the 1960s and 70s. Rya textiles of this period were often made from wool, with an emphasis on tactile surfaces, pronounced textures and simple colour effects.
